From 2002 to 2005 they used the name "Frontier by John Deere" and they were Murrays. From 2005 to 2012 - made by Briggs & Stratton using Murray patterns.

4,192 Posts. #24 · Nov 19, 2014. The front end of the machine looks like a T if you remove it. There is the impeller pulley on the back of the bucket. The engine spins that. That pulley spins the impeller shaft axle going to the front gear box. The impeller is pinned to that shaft with 2 roll pins.

Years ago, I put the 212cc Predator on an Ariens 24-inch bucket machine ... it sure acts like a lot more the 6.5HP it would approximately come out to. Works great on that heavy 10000 machine. I also have an older JD 826 I restored, which I have the original 8HP engine, and can say that is certainly a larger, heavier machine.
